Anna Arlington knows a little something about patience, a virtue that is often overlooked in the hurry-up world we live in. She undoubtedly developed this virtue into a skill as a result of owning a child-care center for almost two decades as both teacher and director. That patience comes in handy when working to find somebody the perfect home, lot or condo, a trait perfected by working with children of all ages, as well as two of her own, throughout the years.
Attention to detail, so important in the real estate world was also honed at an early age when Anna worked in her father’s State Farm agency. Beginning from the tender age of five, Anna started by filing and pretending to be his executive assistant. She excelled at drawing on his expensive carbon paper. Anna admits that her father was the biggest influence in her life and career, “Dad was a self-made business man and instilled his values, work ethic and honesty, in me. He was and always will be my hero,” she says. Besides being a highly motivated real estate Broker/Owner at ASAP Realty, Anna also loves to cook, she owns a small restaurant and a bakery/coffee shop and in her spare time, she is writing her memoirs.
“Once a teacher, always a teacher.” says Anna. “We live, work and play in a great part of the country and I get a lot of enjoyment from educating people on the best, smartest ways to buy or sell their homes I can’t think of a better place to have a first, second or retirement home. This is proving to be one of the best times ever to buy a home in the Brunswick Islands.” The team at ASAP Realty all share a common goal in the success of their clients and seem to be having the time of their lives doing just that. “I want that as my epitaph,” says Anna. I may have sold and listed hundreds of homes, but I want it to say “She had the time of her life!”

Ryan Powers has been in the real estate business for almost a decade. He has been a multi-million dollar producer since his first year in the business. “I had a pretty idyllic childhood,” says Powers. “I was surrounded by so much love and support growing up. That said, my parents passed on that never-say-die attitude to us kids…there was no quitting in the Powers family! I carry that with me into adulthood along with the honesty and integrity they both live by. Any success I’ve had I owe to them as they are pretty amazing people.”
Ryan strives to make everyone around him happy and successful too. This shows best in how hard he works for his clients. Ryan grew up playing many competitive sports, but he played tournament golf from a fairly young age! As he said, “living in ‘golfer’s paradise now has been a nice plus for an avid golfer so when I do get free time, I like to tee it up!” He strives to never take himself too seriously in most aspects of life. “I love helping people first and foremost. That customer service is in my heart and I think that’s what has helped make me successful over the years. I think people know when you truly care and aren’t just ‘selling them something’.
I also try to make sure we have some fun along the way too. This can be a stressful time for many as they look for that perfect town/area to enjoy this next chapter of their lives. Joy Sibal loves a good laugh and greets everyone with a smile. She found herself looking for a new career opportunity after her employer closed its doors. Another door opened when she was offered the opportunity to enter real estate. Joy understood that buying and/or selling a home can be a stressful time but bringing her love of people, a strong desire to help and her sense of humor to the process resulted in the perfect combination! That was more than 25 years ago and she’s never doubted her decision.

Originally from the suburbs of Connecticut, we had always vacationed on the shores of Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. After graduating college, I moved to the Boston area, got married and raised a family and wanted a change of pace for our vacation destinations.
For 12 years, we had vacationed on the coastal shores of North Carolina. Its beauty reminded me of my days on the Cape and Islands, but had a more relaxed, low key vibe. My husband and I knew that someday, when the time was right, we wanted this to be our home. After a painstaking (almost) 2 years selling our home in the Boston area, in a very tough market, we sold our home and moved to the Ocean Isle Beach/Sunset Beach area. We were finally rid of the frigid winters and high taxes. It was during these years that I realized what it really took to both sell a house successfully, and be a buyer trying to narrow down just the right community for our family in this amazing area.
Mike has been a resident of Brunswick County since moving here from Massachusetts in 2005 & is well familiar with the area. “I love it here and enjoy introducing the area to new buyers.” His knowledge of the area and the NC real estate process serves to create a healthy and satisfactory agent-client relationship. “I am totally up front with people. Being a baby boomer, Mike particularly enjoys working with retirees looking to move to the Carolinas. “I understand the complexity of making the move & I like helping buyers sift through the many options available to them in this area. Mike worked in real estate while living in Massachusetts and also had a career in the wholesale lumber business. “Having experience in the lumber industry has helped me understand the construction process and housing values. Much of this knowledge can be applied to real estate as well.”
Mike is also a veteran, having served in Vietnam. His awards include 3 Purple Hearts and the Air Medal.
Valya Mentz has been a real estate broker for almost a decade now. She began her real estate career in Raleigh, NC, before being beckoned to the coast by the beautiful Brunswick County beaches. Cheri Gibson relocated to the Calabash after a 27 year career as an elementary school teacher.
